Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and master's degree completed within three years.
• ASCP Medical Laboratory Scientist certification or equivalent.
• Seven years of lab work experience with at least two years in a supervisory/management role.

Responsibilities

• Ensures services are delivered using established standards of care for laboratory practice.
• Ensures care team members understand how their role contributes to the laboratory's and organization's goals.
• Performs annual evaluations, mid years and planning stages for care team members by established deadlines.
• Leads daily laboratory huddles.
• Routinely rounds on laboratory care team members.
• Conducts staff meetings as necessary.
• Ensure accessibility to care team members.
• Actively manages staffing using rounding and workload volume reports.
• Manages supplies and FTE expense.
• Supports an environment of continuous process improvement.
• Ensures laboratory resulting errors are within limits supporting quality patient care.
• Actively participates on Pathology and Laboratory ICCE Operations Committee.
• Participates in Pathology and Laboratory ICCE Managers' meeting.
• Ensures Histopathology Department adheres to quality, safety, regulatory, certification, and accreditation standards.
