Job Summary and Qualifications
You Will:
  • Perform histology and cytology procedures including specimen processing, cell block preparation, embedding, microtomy, slide preparation, stains, case organization.
  • Ensure proper sample, block, and slide identification.
  • Prepare and maintain reagents for stains and procedures.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Adhere to policies regarding quality control and assurance.
  • Use judgment and problem-solving skills to ensure procedure accuracy and equipment performance, troubleshooting as needed.
You Should Have:
  • High School Diploma and at least two years of histology experience, or completion of an accredited Histotechnology program, or relevant degree with experience.
  • National Certification as a MT (ASCP) or HT (ASCP).
  • Knowledge of histology methods and disease correlation.
  • Ability to follow fixation and staining protocols.
  • Skill in specimen preparation and staining quality.
  • Knowledge of laboratory accreditation and compliance.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills, with ability to train others.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
