Job summary

AdventHealth in Tampa, FL is seeking a Histotechnologist to join our clinical laboratory team. You will register, process, and prepare tissue specimens for diagnostic evaluation, and operate embedding, sectioning, staining and cover slipping equipment with strict quality control.

You will mentor junior staff and students, follow safety policies, manage hazardous waste, and support continuous improvements in histology workflows. A minimum of 2 years of histology experience is required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree is required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• At least 2 years of histology laboratory experience.
• Good reading and writing in English.

Responsibilities

• Register, order, and accession pathology specimens into computer systems.
• Operate and maintain embedding, sectioning, staining, and cover slipping equipment.
• May train or mentor histology staff and students.
• Perform quality control tests and troubleshoot instrumentation.
• Prepare specimens for research requests and perform special stains as needed.
• Handle hazardous waste in accordance with safety policies.
