Northside Hospital - Histology Technologist

Job Responsibilities

1. Develops and monitors work activities in the Histology Lab and the Morgue.
2. Performs routine histological activities, including receiving, preparing, and processing surgical specimens for patients.

Minimum Requirements

1. Education and Experience:
   • Successful completion of a formal histology technologist training program or an Associate's degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences.
   • Certification as an HT/HTL (ASCP) or eligibility to take the exam. Eligible applicants must pass within 18 months of graduation or moving to Georgia.
   • At least two (2) years of experience in a pathology laboratory.
2. Attention to detail, good physical dexterity, and strong written and oral communication skills.
3. Must submit to and pass a Color-Acuity screening test.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience with computer keyboards and information systems.
2. Immunochemistry experience and/or training.
3. Bachelor’s degree in science plus successful completion of a formal histology tech program.
