Job Summary

Develops and monitors the work activities in the Histology Lab and the Morgue. Performs routine histological activities of receiving, preparing, and processing surgical specimens for patients.

All applicants should meet the following education/experience requirements: a. Successful completion of a formal histology technologist training program, or an Associate's degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences. b. Certified as an HT/HTL (ASCP) or eligible to take the HT/HTL (ASCP) exam. Certification eligible applicants must pass examination within eighteen (18) months after school graduation or after moving to the state of Georgia. c. Two (2) years' experience in a pathology laboratory.
Attention to detail, good physical dexterity, and good written and oral communication skills.
All applicants must submit to and pass a Color-Acuity screening Test.

Preferred

Computer keyboard and information system experience.
Immuno chemistry experience and/or training.
Bachelor's degree in science, plus successful completion of a formal histology tech program
