Job summary

Medical Diagnostic Laboratories, LLC is seeking a histology technician to prepare high-quality slides from tissue for pathologists. You will accession surgical specimens, gross them, process tissues, embed, cut and stain samples in a CLIA-certified lab.

Requirements include an associate or higher in a chemical/biological science or medical laboratory technology, and 0–2+ years of related experience. Fluent English and strict adherence to safety rules are required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in chemical or biological science or medical laboratory technology, or education/training equivalent as CAP/CLIA specifies.
• Bachelor's degree in science.
• 0–2+ years related experience.

Responsibilities

• Accessioning of surgical specimens in the laboratory information system.
• Grossing of routine surgical specimens as approved by the pathologist or medical director.
• Tissue processing including embedding, cutting and staining.
• Performance and recording of equipment maintenance.
• May move items weighing 20–25 lbs.
• Provide accurate, safe and compliant lab work.
