Job Responsibilities:

• Process and prepare tissue and cytology specimens using histologic, frozen sectioning, immunohistochemical, in situ hybridization, and tissue microarray techniques
• Teach and instruct other laboratory staff in these techniques
• Supervise and train new staff or students, including hiring, performance management, and providing technical instruction and project consultation
• Prepare microscopic slides for diagnostic purposes, including embedding, microtomy, mounting, staining, labeling, and coverslipping
• Perform special staining techniques for tissue analysis, including detection of micro-organisms, cellular components, antigens, and enzymes for diagnosis and prognosis
• Contribute to regulatory approval processes (CAP, FDA, etc.) related to GHI Histopathology
• Assess slide quality and troubleshoot procedures as needed
• Prepare control slides and collaborate with the laboratory director to validate procedures

Position Requirements:

• Associate's Degree in Science or higher
• ASCP certification (HT or HTL) or eligibility to obtain
• Experience preferred but not required
