Job summary

Community Medical Center in Missoula, MT is seeking a Histology Technician to perform routine duties including staining, processing, recording slides and reports to support accurate diagnosis. You will ensure turn-around times, maintain filing of blocks and slides, and assist with supply orders and data entry in Windowpath.

Education: completion of a certified Histology Tech program and CLA or equivalent histology licensure.

• Completion of a certified Histology Tech program.
• CLA or equivalent histology licensure.

Responsibilities

• The Histologist performs a variety of routine laboratory duties in the preparation and processing of histopathological specimens to assist in diagnosis and treatment of disease.
• Meets turn-around-time standards.
• Maintains orderly filing system for block and slides.
• Block and slide prep completed accurately.
• Orders Histo/Cyto supplies.
• Correct entry of information into Windowpath computer system.
• Statistical/QA reports complete and timely.
• Maintenance is performed adequately on equipment.
