Qualifications

• Associate degree from an approved clinical laboratory technician program.

• NYS licensure via grandparenting pathway or NYS license required. Certification by NYS Education Department as a CLT, HT, or Pathologist Assistant is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine histologic procedures: accessioning, grossing, embedding, sectioning, and staining.
• Cover slips slides and document outcomes.
• Train in new laboratory equipment and assist in maintaining equipment.
• Prepare solutions required for histological examination.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
