Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a Clinical Histo Tech I (FGP) for the Manhattan Dermatology-Dermpath group. The successful candidate will prepare tissue specimens for pathologic examination and support routine histology workflows in a high-volume setting.

Minimum qualifications include an Associate degree in a clinical laboratory program, NYS licensure or grandparenting pathway, and at least six months in histology. Preferred BS/BA in science and ASCP-HT certification.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in clinical laboratory technician program.
• Six months of experience in a histology laboratory.
• Certification by NYS Education Department as a Clinical Laboratory Technician, Certified Histological Technician, or Pathologist Assistant is required.

Responsibilities

• Accessioning, grossing, embedding and sectioning of tissue specimens.
• Perform routine stains and special stains as needed.
• Label slides and document findings.
• Train on new laboratory equipment.
• Maintain and prepare solutions for histological examination.
