Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking an Histology Technician/Technologist to join the Histology Laboratory, handling embedding, sectioning and staining of FFPE tissue to support diagnosis.

This 2nd or 3rd shift position involves high-volume processing with light supervision, quality checks, supply handling, and assisting with training and paperwork to maintain efficient, accurate patient care lab operations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED. Histology experience preferred. May require HT/HTL (ASCP) certification within 2 years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Process, embed, cut and stain tissue specimens in a high-volume lab.
• Prepare reagents, dispose chemical wastes, and maintain equipment.
• Assist with quality control, paperwork, stocking supplies, and training as needed.
• Support scheduling and shift coverage for 2nd or 3rd shift.
