OhioHealth is seeking a qualified Histotechnician to assist in the Department of Pathology. You will accession specimens for microscopic evaluation, prepare tissues and body fluids, maintain stains, reagents, and instruments, and support pathologists in imaging and procedural evaluations.

Night shift, 40 hours per week, with emphasis on accuracy and safety. Requirements include a High School diploma, HT (ASCP) certification or equivalent experience, and an expectation of maintaining quality

Qualifications

• Highly skilled communicator and critical thinking skills.
• Medical terminology and Basic anatomy knowledge.
• Strong computer skills.

Responsabilités

• 40% Processing of specimens; Accurately accession all specimens in the LIS and maintain specimen integrity.
• 40% Assist pathologist in evaluation of radiology, endoscopy and frozen section procedures with label prep and reagent maintenance.
• 15% Lab maintenance, waste disposal, stock management and routine equipment upkeep.
• 5% Performs other duties as assigned.
