Job summary

Revvity is seeking a Histology Technician in Mountain Lakes to perform tissue processing, sectioning, and preparation as part of the production workflow. You will log specimens, batch, and mount tissues while ensuring accuracy and traceability in a regulated environment.

The role requires a basic lab background with 2+ years in histology or an associate/bachelor's degree with 1+ year of experience. Prior use of cryostat microtomes and ASCP HT/HTL certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED with 2+ years as lab/histology tech OR Associate/Bachelor with 1+ year in histology/lab work.
• ASCP HT/HTL certification or equivalent is preferred.
• Experience with cryostat microtome is preferred.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and follow procedures in English.
• Good oral and written communication; detail-oriented and deadline-driven.

Responsibilities

• Use a freeze cutter to produce frozen tissue sections for assays.
• Place tissue sections on carrier glass for processing.
• Pack and store carrier glasses properly.
• Perform day-to-day production tasks following detailed work instructions.
• Identify quality defects in process, product, or equipment.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Keep records and complete production paperwork.
• Provide training to coworkers as needed.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform other delegated tasks and comply with safety and regulatory requirements.

Overview

The Histology Technician will perform the various tasks required for receiving, processing, and preparing tissue specimens to serve as a critical raw material for subsequent production activities. This may include logging, batching, cutting, mounting, and other procedures

Essential responsibilities

• Utilize a freeze cutter to produce frozen tissue sections to be used in our assays.
• Subsequently, position the tissue sections onto suitable carrier glass for further processing.
• Proficiently pack the carrier glasses and ensure their subsequent storage.
• Participate in day-to-day production activities accurately following detailed work instructions, processes, and procedures.
• Identify quality and defects within process, product, or equipment.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Maintain appropriate records and complete other production related paperwork.
• Provide training to coworkers as needed.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform other delegated tasks, as required.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures and comply with all safety and regulatory requirements.

Basic Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED and a minimum of two years of experience as a laboratory technician or experience as a histology technician OR Associate or bachelor's degree and a minimum of one year of experience as a laboratory technician or experience as a histology technician

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cryostat microtome
• Prior experience as a histology technician HT (ASCP), HTL (ASCP), or equivalent certification
• Ability to read, comprehend, and follow procedures written in English
• Good oral or written communication skills
• Keen attention to detail and problem-solving skills; deadline-driven work ethic
• Team players who perform well in a steady or fast-paced environment
• Well-organized, ability to work efficiently and independently with minimum supervision
• Proactive, planning and exhibits a high level of critical thinking abilities

Salary

The base salary range for this full-time position is $21/hr - $25.25/hr. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for a new hire in this position. The base pay actually offered to the successful candidate will take into account internal equity, work location, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. Please note that base pay is only one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This range allows for the successful candidate to have an opportunity to progress within the position and develop at our company.
