Revvity Omics in Pittsburgh seeks an Advanced Clinical Laboratory Technologist to perform clinical laboratory tests on dried blood spot samples, organize tests, and ensure accurate data recording. Monday–Friday, 7 AM–3 PM, in a state-of-the-art omics lab.

The role requires 2+ years of clinical lab experience and a Bachelor's in Science, with authorization to work in the United States full-time. Expect collaboration with leadership and strict adherence to GLP/CLIA/CAP regulations.

Revvity Omics, a division of Revvity, is a clinical molecular and biochemical laboratory offering a variety of different screening and diagnostic testing options. From prenatal screening before birth to newborn screening shortly after birth and whole genome sequencing through one’s lifetime. Our goal is to provide valuable and insightful information about potential underlying genetic conditions, guiding patients and providers to improved health outcomes.

We are seeking a Advanced Clinical Laboratory Technologist at our Pittsburgh state-of-the‑art omics laboratory to perform clinical laboratory tests, procedures, and analyses that contribute to the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. The working hours are Monday - Friday from 7 AM - 3 PM.

Job Purpose

Perform various assays on human dried blood spot specimens. Specimens are organized, handled, and processed. Results are evaluated.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepares specimens for analysis and organizes tests to be performed.
  • Performs clinical testing according to standard operating procedures, related to specimen handling, processing, and test analyses.
  • Accesses and handles protected health information (PHI) according to laboratory policies and procedures and in a manner consistent with federal regulations.
  • Prepares and properly labels reagents required for laboratory testing.
  • Performs general laboratory duties such as glassware cleaning, reagent making, etc.
  • Verifies proper instrument function by checking and calibrating laboratory instruments and documents data.
  • Maintains legible work records.
  • Maintains records that demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens.
  • Adheres to the laboratory’s quality control policies and document all quality control activities.
  • Follows the laboratory’s established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the lab established acceptable levels of performance.
  • Pays careful attention to detail during all laboratory tasks.
  • Follows instructions from Supervisors, and all Leadership.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
  • Performs all job duties in a manner consistent with, laboratory, CLIA, CAP and local regulations.
  • Maintains good communication with leadership, team members and customers.
  • Follows safety, security, and the environment in all aspect of the daily activities and report any potential safety hazards to Supervisors; address them immediately if possible.
  • Understands ergonomic relationship between people, equipment and working environment.

Qualifications
  • Bachelors in Science required
  • 2+ years clinical laboratory experience.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer.
Working Conditions

Clinical and research lab environment; exposure to blood borne pathogens; must wear protective lab gear including mask, lab coat, gloves and completely closed footwear. Employee may be requested to work shifts other than daylight depending on the needs of the laboratory. Weekend rotation may be required. Travel is not required.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, use a keyboard and mouse, type, and occasionally move to other parts of the lab. Must have manual dexterity to use lab equipment. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.

Compensation

The base salary range for this full-time position is $26/hr - $28/hr. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for a new hire in this position. The base pay actually offered to the successful candidate will take into account internal equity, work location, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Please note that base pay is only one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This range allows for the successful candidate to have an opportunity to progress within the position and develop at our company. This base pay range does not take into account bonuses, equity, or other benefits which may be applicable and are dependent on the level and position offered.
