Job summary

Endeavor Health's Evanston Hospital is seeking a Histology Technician to join the team. The role involves processing tissues with rapid tissue processing, embedding, and microtomy of paraffin blocks, plus recuts and special stains.

The candidate should have an accredited histology program, HT/HTL ASCP or equivalent, and ideally 1 year of histology experience. Opportunities for growth and comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Laboratory Science with histology training or an accredited histology program.
• HT/HTL ASCP certification or equivalent eligible.
• 1 year histology laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process tissues using Xpress microwave rapid tissue processor.
• Embed tissues manually and with Sakura Auto TEK embedder.
• Microtomy of paraffin-embedded tissue blocks (manual and automated).
• Recuts of tissue blocks.
• Perform special stains.
• IF cryotomy of skin specimens.
