Job summary

INOTIV BOULDER LLC seeks a Histology Technician to follow SOPs, process tissue samples, and prepare histology slides. The role requires accuracy, organization, and ability to interact professionally with clients and staff. Training is provided, with emphasis on timelines, quality, and compliance.

The candidate should have at least one year of relevant experience and a high school diploma or GED. Proficiency in MS Office and willingness to learn lab software is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Follow SOPs and laboratory procedures; handle confidential information.
  • Interact professionally with clients, colleagues, and community.
  • Maintain study records and documentation for compliance.
  • Perform tissue processing, embedding, microtomy and slide mounting.
  • Identify anatomical landmarks on blocks/slides; prepare tissue per protocol.
  • Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment; ensure proper functioning.

This position will require frequent walking, sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time, carrying, heavy lifting (max. 50lbs), reaching while standing, gripping and twisting hand movements, finger control and other general repetitive motions (for more than four [4] hours per day)Able to wear latex or nitrile gloves, dust mask or respirator and safety glasses as requiredAble to handle chemicals and hazardous materials according to local and company rules and regulationsAbility to read and understand applicable materialsManual dexterity to operate assigned laboratory equipment and computersAble to troubleshoot equipment errors and instrument specificationsWorking ConditionsWork is normally performed in a typical interior office work or laboratory environmentWork environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following safety precautions and may include use of protective equipmentThe noise level is usually moderateThis position will frequently be involved with sharp, solvents, irritants, acids, bases, and other hazardous chemicals, flammable materials and bio-hazards.This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience. The salary range is $24-$32/hr and will adjust along with the level of the role to match the person’s relevant experience and/or education level.Salary will be commensurate with experience and responsibilities.
