Job summary

Piedmont Rockdale Hospital is seeking a Histotechnician/Histotechnologist to cut, stain and prepare tissue samples for pathologist review. The role emphasizes accurate testing procedures and timely processing, with meticulous record-keeping in line with policies and regulations. Basic education is required (H.S.

Diploma or GED). Recent graduates or those with 1 year of surgical pathology experience are acceptable; 3 years in pathology preferred.

• In lieu of degree One (1) year of technical experience in a surgical pathology laboratory required
• 3 years experience in a surgical pathology laboratory preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• HT - Histotechnologist - ASCP Certification as a Histotechnologist or Histotechnician by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or other acceptable agency, according to the qualifications through the State of Georgia Department of Community Health, Healthcare Facility, Clinical Laboratory regulations. Upon Hire Required or
• A person who recently moved into the state of Georgia or recently completed the academic and training/experience requirements may be temporarily classified as technologist or technician for eighteen (18) months only to afford the person an opportunity to successfully complete an approved qualifying examination within 1-1/2 Yrs Required
