Job summary

Labcorp in Cincinnati, OH seeks a Histotechnician to join a night shift team. Responsibilities include processing tissue, preparing slides, performing immunohistochemistry, staining, embedding, and reporting results to support patient care.

Minimum qualifications include an Associate’s degree in Histology or a HS diploma with histology experience. OT flexibility and color vision test are required. Competitive pay with benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Histology or high school diploma with histology experience.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to pass a color blindness test and work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Process human tissue and body fluid specimens for microscopic exam.
• Prepare histopathology slides from surgical specimens.
• Section tissue with a microtome and mount on slides.
• Perform immunohistochemical tests on tissue sections.
• Conduct routine and special staining procedures.
• Orient and embed surgical tissue specimens.
• Prepare stains and reagents for procedures.
• Report accurate test results for patient care.
• Operate and maintain manual and automated instruments.
• Document equipment maintenance and log data.
• Adhere to quality control policies.
• Follow specimen handling, processing, analysis and reporting procedures.
• Document problems and perform corrective actions.
