Job summary

KAISER in Berkeley, CA seeks a Histologic Technician II to perform immunohistochemical stains and all histology processing tasks. The role includes cutting, embedding, staining sections, and maintaining logbooks and equipment documentation.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Science with 12 months histology experience or related Kaiser program.
• High school diploma/GED with 3 years histology experience in complex labs.
• Histologic Technician or Histologic Technologist certificate.
• Demonstrated ability to perform special stains and immunohistochemical stains.
• Experience with lab information systems.

Responsibilities

• Performs fixation and processing of specimens.
• Cuts, prepares, and stains slides from histology specimens.
• Prepares special stains and immunohistochemistry stains.
• Performs Quality Control on stained slides.
• Orders reagents and supplies as needed.
• May train new employees and students.
