Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to join the team in California. The role involves following approved infection control, quality assurance, and departmental policies, while collecting, cleaning, decontaminating, and sterilizing surgical instruments, trays, and reusable devices for inpatient and medical office departments.

The technician will prepare packs, assemble instruments, and ensure proper documentation, inventory, and compliance.

Qualifications

• One year experience in instrument processing.
• Knowledge of sterilization equipment and QA protocols.
• Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions and memos.
• Effective written and verbal communication with coworkers and customers.
• Willing to work in a Labor Management Partnership environment.
• Must hold CS/SPD Certification or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Infection Control - Standard Precautions.
• Quality Assurance Monitoring and documentation of QA records.
• Documentation of daily QA and sterilization functions.
• Adherence to organizational policies and procedures.
• Staff development and training participation and competency programs.
• Decontamination, cleaning, assembling, and reprocessing instruments.
• Preparation and packaging for sterilization.
• Principles of sterilization and verification of parameters.
• Equipment and supply management including inventories.
• Workplace safety and compliance with safety policies.
