LabCorp is seeking a Histology Professional to join our team at Ascension Providence in Waco, TX. The shift is 1st, 5x8 hours, Monday–Friday, 7:30am–4:00pm with rotating weekends.

Responsibilities include processing tissue samples, producing slides, microtome sectioning, immunohistochemistry, stains, and reporting results to ensure high-quality patient care. The role requires an Associate’s degree in a chemical or biological science and 3+ years’ histology experience with embedding and cutting.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• 3+ years of experience as a Histotechnician with embedding and cutting experience.
• Preferred: Histology and/or ASCP certifications; Immunohistochemistry experience welcomed.

Responsabilités

• Process human tissue and body fluid specimens for microscopic exam.
• Produce histopathology slides from surgical specimens and perform tests.
• Section embedded tissue using a microtome and mount on slides.
• Conduct immunohistochemical tests on FFPE tissue sections.
• Follow routine and special staining procedures and maintain equipment.
• Report accurate test results to support patient care.
• Perform preventive maintenance and document quality controls.
