Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking a Lead Histology Technologist to oversee histology operations, train staff, and ensure accurate testing in the anatomical pathology area. The role requires ASCP certification, an associate degree, and preferred BS degree with 3+ years of experience.

Qualifications

• ASCP licensure or other certifications required.
• Associate degree required; Bachelor of Science preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in histology is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee routine operations of the Histology department.
• Instruct staff in histologic techniques as necessary.
• Troubleshoot and repair laboratory equipment.
• Embed and microtomy surgical specimens; proper orientation.
• Perform tissue processing using standard programs and reagents.
• Execute special stains and immunohistochemistry as ordered.
