Job summary

Abbott Laboratories in Phoenix, AZ seeks a Clinical Laboratory Trainer - Histology to lead training for new hires and existing staff. You will deliver in-person and virtual sessions, develop materials, and document competencies to ensure regulatory compliance.

You will support the histology team with process improvements, oversee exams, and maintain training records, leveraging strong computer and LMS skills. The role requires flexibility for nights/weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Chemical, Physical, Biological, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology from an accredited institution.
• 1+ years of experience providing instructor-led in-person and/or virtual training, either in a laboratory or other setting.
• 2+ years of laboratory experience with working knowledge of HIPAA, GLP, GDP and lab terminology/equipment, including at least 1 year in histology.
• Strong computer skills including internet navigation, virtual meeting tools (Teams/Zoom), email, word processing, and data/records management.

Responsibilities

• Provide and document new hire training in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
• Deliver ongoing in-person and virtual training, including retraining for errors and promotions.
• Develop training materials and administer exams/competency evaluations.
• Maintain accurate training records per policies and procedures.
• Coordinate training schedules and learner completions; observe learners; transfer knowledge.
