Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Specialty Lab Assistant to join our Histology team at Ascension Saint Agnes in Baltimore, MD. The role involves preparing specimens, labeling, packaging, and data entry, with an overnight shift from 12:00am to 8:30am.

You will handle biological specimens, maintain accurate documentation, and support production goals while working in a collaborative lab environment. The organization emphasizes quality, safety, and timely processing of samples.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year or more experience in lab or medical environment preferred.
• Associate degree in Chemical or Biological Science or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
• Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas.
• Accurately identify and label specimens.
• Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities.
• Meet department activity and production goals.
• Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples.
• Disposal of waste reagents and biohazardous waste.
• Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner.
• Resolve and document any problem specimens.
• Monitors supplies and inventory for areas of the lab as directed by management.
• Properly unpack and put away supplies and inventory.
