Job summary

Duly Health and Care in Lockport is seeking a Histology Laboratory Assistant to support routine lab processing. You will monitor supplies, assist technologists, and accession surgical pathology and cytology cases in Epic under supervision.

The role requires 1+ year of experience, strong organization, and attention to detail. The position is full-time, Monday–Friday, with a comprehensive benefits package and a base pay range that reflects local market rates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and strong communication skills are essential.
• Experience in a laboratory setting is valued.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain accuracy under time pressure.
• Strong attention to detail and teamwork are important.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and service orientation are expected.

Responsibilities

• Monitor inventory and stock supplies in the lab.
• Answer lab phones and assist technologists in processing specimens.
• Accession surgical pathology and cytology cases in Epic.
• Verify labeling; contact clinics to resolve discrepancies.
• Process cytology specimens for cytotechnologists to screen.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and proper lab maintenance.
