Job summary

Labcorp in Burlington, NC seeks a Histology Supervisor to oversee daily Histology operations and mentor staff. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a chemical or biological science and 3+ years as a Histotechnologist, with a preference for prior supervision and ASCP certification.

The supervisor will ensure timely test results, compliance with CLIA and CAP regulations, and continuous process improvements in a high-volume laboratory environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical or biological science, Histology, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• 3+ years of experience as a Histotechnologist.
• 6 months or more of supervising or leading a team (preferred).
• ASCP certifications (preferred).
• Familiarity with CLIA, CAP and state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the day to day operations of the Histology department.
• Ensure laboratory tests are accurately performed and results reported timely.
• Directly supervise, train, and mentor laboratory personnel in the department.
• Monitor daily workflow and schedule adequate assay coverage.
• Ensure shifts are properly staffed and compliant with policies.
• Engage in process improvements and quality control.
