Job summary

IDEXX in Elmhurst, IL is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to support the Histology department. You will input sample data, stock materials, and prepare tissue samples for histology technicians, while maintaining VM systems and ensuring image quality for pathologists.

Excellent day-one benefits accompany a full-time schedule. Prior histology experience is a plus, and training is provided to help you grow with the team.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in a histology lab is a plus.
• Ability to follow SOPs and safety procedures.
• Comfort with computers and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Input sample information into the laboratory database.
• Stock benches with materials for technicians.
• Run equipment to prep histology samples.
• Pack samples for storage.
• Ensure timely delivery of cases to remote pathologists.
• Maintain and troubleshoot VM systems for digital slide viewing.
• Organize and archive VM cases.
• Track VM system errors and assist with issues.
• Assist with administrative tasks as needed.
