Job summary

Tempus is seeking dedicated lab personnel to support precision medicine initiatives. You will maintain critical laboratory equipment, adhere to CAP regulations, and follow SOPs to ensure accurate, high-quality work.

Responsibilities include operating automated staining and processing equipment, recording using LIMS, and collaborating with the Lab team to meet turnaround times. Safety and thorough communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of CAP regulations and SOPs/protocols.
• Comfort with lab safety training and procedures.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities in a lab setting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain laboratory equipment and record maintenance regularly.
• Follow safety requirements of the laboratory and approach work diligently.
• Perform routine workflows with minimal guidance.
• Produce quality finished products.
• Utilize automated stainer, coverslipper, and tissue processor.
• Track work using a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Collaborate with Lab team to meet sample turnaround times.
• General lab upkeep and restocking of working areas.

Job description

What you’ll do:

• Maintain laboratory equipment and record maintenance regularly
• Approach work with safety and diligence and follow safety requirements of the laboratory
• Perform routine workflows without specific guidance
• Reliably produce quality finished product
• Utilize automated stainer, automated coverslipper, and tissue processor
• Track work completed using a custom Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
• Work collaboratively with other members of the Lab team to meet sample turnaround times
• General lab maintenance and upkeep
• Restock working areas

Qualifications:

• At least a High School degree or GED required
• Laboratory knowledge of CAP regulations
• Laboratory experience with laboratory SOPs and protocols
• Laboratory comfort with laboratory safety and training
• Demonstrates problem solving skills in the laboratory
• Good communication and organization skills

Precautions:

Job responsibilities include Xylene exposure. This exposure is monitored and kept within recommended guidelines. Individuals with respiratory conditions may need additional PPE.

Illinois Pay Rate: $23.00/hour The expected salary range may vary for other locations. Actual salary may vary based on qualifications and experience.
