Job Summary

Laboratory leadership role within the Diagnostic Laboratories of the Medical Center. Leads clinical laboratory sections and/or laboratory support functions; provides direction for supervisors of the laboratories and serves as a key resource to integrate clinical activities and optimize patient care. With the lab leadership team, defines clinical performance standards and quality measures, monitors performance, identifies problems, and initiates corrective actions. Manages staff, operating budget, and participates in capital budget planning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitors and coordinates programs and actions within areas of responsibility; has overall fiscal accountability for sections.
  • Develops work goals and objectives based on interpretation of organizational plans; plans to achieve goals or establish priorities through budgeting and program development.
  • Monitors payroll reports for overtime and FlexPTO and conducts performance appraisals.
