Vanderbilt Health is seeking a Director, Laboratory to oversee administrative, fiscal, and technical activities ensuring efficient operation of the clinical laboratory and compliance with corporate policies.
The role leads quality control, quality assurance, and the point-of-care testing program, hires and develops staff, and ensures regulatory compliance (CAP, AABB, JCAHO, CLIA) while coordinating with other hospital departments to meet goals.

Hospital Operations
The Director, Laboratory oversees administrative, fiscal, and technical activities to ensure efficient operation of the clinical laboratory and compliance with corporate policies. The Director, Lab is responsible for the quality control program, quality assurance, and the point-of-care testing program within the clinical laboratory. The Director, Lab plans, organizes, directs, controls, and evaluates the work of the clinical laboratory and coordinates it with other hospital areas. It is responsible for all personnel including hiring, discipline, staff development, evaluation, and payroll. The Director, Lab acts as technical supervisor for clinical laboratory functions off site and owned by the hospital and ensures the laboratory meets regulatory requirements (CAP, AABB, JCAHO, CLIA, etc.).
Allied health professionals perform supportive, diagnostic, and therapeutic health care services across settings. These areas contribute to Vanderbilt Health's reputation for excellence and patient referrals from the Mid-South region.
