May 05, 2025 - Iambic Therapeutics is hiring a remote Software Engineer II/Senior Software Engineer. Salary: competitive compensation package. Location: USA.

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a talented and motivated Software Engineer II/Senior Software Engineer to join our technology team at Iambic Therapeutics. You will be a key player in applying advanced software engineering skills to build technologies that support our drug discovery efforts. Your key responsibilities include developing training data workflows for machine-learning (ML) models, scalable deployment of ML technologies, and creating, testing, and maintaining software systems. This role is remote, with a preference for candidates on the US East Coast or in the UK.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Work in a cross-functional team that spans the full domain of drug discovery.
2. Provide software development support to the ML model lifecycle, including:

• Designing and developing efficient and maintainable data pipelines
• Benchmarking systems of models
• Deployments to AWS and using Kubernetes (collaborating with cloud engineers)

Collaborate on creating, testing, and maintaining software systems.

Conduct code reviews for pull requests in related areas.

Maintain and mentor team members on software best practices, including version control, testing, and documentation.

Work with ML scientists and other team members to understand requirements for deployed models.

Communicate work clearly in meetings and demos, tailored to the audience.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years with a Master's; or 3 years with a PhD; or equivalent experience.
• Technical skills to develop and maintain ML systems used by the team.
• Experience with cloud-based ML systems processing large data volumes.
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Basic knowledge of Chemistry and Biology concepts.
• Ability to communicate effectively with ML engineers.
• Demonstrated competence and rigor in software development.
• Experience with scientific computing environments (e.g., SLURM).
• Familiarity with cloud computing and ability to specify requirements for DevOps engineers.
