May 17, 2025 - StepStone Group is hiring a remote Senior DevOps Engineer

Salary: $160,000 - $175,000. Location: USA.

Position Overview

The DevOps Engineer will help us build and maintain functional systems that improve both customer experience and assist the development team in building, testing, and deploying our applications. Responsibilities include deploying updates to our infrastructure, identifying issues, and providing improvements to our deployment process. You will work closely with the development team to implement updates required by our applications and collaborate with the IT team to enforce security measures and maintain audit records. The ideal candidate loves scripting in Python or Bash, is comfortable building Docker clusters, and has strong knowledge of AWS services.

Essential Job Functions

• Work with the Engineering team to set up, manage, and scale server resources for application deployment.
• Ensure the platform is up-to-date, perform regular maintenance (security patches, server upgrades), and restrict resource access appropriately.
• Collaborate with the IT team to establish security auditing best practices for network resources.
• Assist in setting up network resources for applications, optimize deployment processes, and upgrade infrastructure to improve user experience.

Education and Work Experience Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience deploying SaaS applications with a software development team.
• 3-5 years of Kubernetes experience, including building Helm charts; knowledge of Istio is a plus.
• Strong Linux administration background (Ubuntu preferred).
• Experience with automation/configuration management tools (Puppet, Chef, Terraform).
• Proficiency with AWS services for SaaS platform management.
• Knowledge of managing database environments (MySQL preferred), including replication and performance tuning.
• Working knowledge of programming languages such as PHP, Python, Node.js.
• Understanding of IT operations for highly available, always-up services.
• Experience with Docker in service-oriented architectures is a plus.

Salary Range: $160,000 - $175,000

The salary range is an estimate; actual pay may vary based on location, education, skills, and experience. Benefits and other compensation are not included in this range.
