What you will do
Use data-driven methods to:
Determine what should be manual vs automated.
Enhance our QA processes and practices.
Build and maintain self-service testing platforms and tools for effective and efficient testing (e.g., frameworks for functional, performance, and resilience testing).
Support engineering teams in improving their quality practices using your frameworks.
Write clean code, conduct code reviews, and document your work.
Implement and promote CI/CD practices with integrated quality checks at every stage.
Embed quality practices early in development (shift-left), enabling faster feedback and fewer downstream defects.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define test scenarios and acceptance criteria aligned with our quality strategy.
Contribute to operational excellence through run books, incident protocols, and reliability initiatives.
Identify opportunities to improve engineering practices proactively.
Foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing across product, design, and engineering teams.
A healthy curiosity, autonomy, and strong accountability.
A desire to perform and grow as an engineer.
Proven technical initiative and commitment to clean code.
4+ years of experience testing complex applications.
Fluency in a modern programming language (we use Typescript).
Experience in test automation of UI with frameworks like Playwright (or similar).
Experience in automating API and event-driven services.
Knowledge of modern CI/CD tools like BuildKite.
Understanding of:
Cloud architecture principles.
Microservices and resiliency patterns.
Experience with performance testing tools such as k6, Artillery, or Gatling.
Experience working with AWS.
Experience with databases (SQL or NoSQL).
Experience with containerization tools like Docker.
Experience with observability tools like Elastic or Sentry.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
Nice to have
Experience in performance testing of web applications.
Experience with Chaos Engineering.
