Job description

Warehouse Forklift Operator

Simply put, our Warehouse Forklift Operators are masters of skillfully maneuvering industrial powered equipment. Join the team and use your skills to help Publix Distribution maintain a smooth, safe, and orderly process when moving product within Publix’s warehouses.

Responsibilities include:

1. Maneuvering powered industrial equipment to move cases and pallets into their assigned slots in the warehouse.
2. Moving product from the receiving dock to reserve locations.
3. Replenishing pick locations as they are emptied by Warehouse Selectors, pulling product from reserve locations.
4. Rotating inventory using the most dated inventory first.
5. Maintaining a clean warehouse and sweeping out empty slots.
6. Occasionally filling in for Warehouse Selectors and other positions as needed.

The responsibilities listed are not all-inclusive and additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Minimum Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old (or 19 in Alabama).
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended periods.
• Successfully complete a Work Attitude Survey.
• Obtain certification in pallet truck and forklift operations before start date.
• Ability to lift at least 67 pounds, up to 85 pounds in the Boxed Meat/Dairy Warehouse.
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods.
• Ability to bend, stoop, and twist.
• Operate a pallet truck or forklift with body parts within the operator compartment.
• Stack products of varying weights.
• Work under strict time requirements.
• Read, write, and verify numbers.
• Follow instructions accurately.
