Schedule: 2nd Shift (1500-2300 | Full-Time

Ideal candidates will have previous experience as a security officer, security guard, and/or other safety and protection related fields, including customer service roles.

Position Summary

The 2nd Shift Security Supervisor oversees physical security operations, access control, and incident response during peak evening transition hours. This role manages on-duty security officers, enforces facility safety protocols, handles emergency escalation, and ensures smooth shift transitions with 1st and 3rd shift teams.

Must have a current valid Wisconsin Security License and have an active driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities
Shift Management & Supervision

Direct daily operations of the 2nd shift security guard force, including post assignments, patrol routes, and break rotations.

Conduct shift briefings ("pass-downs") to review active watchlists, visitor logs, facility events, and handovers from the 1st shift.

Conduct unannounced field inspections to verify security officers are attentive, in full uniform, and following standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Review and approve daily activity logs, visitor registries, and incident reports generated during the shift.

Serve as the primary incident commander on scene for security breaches, medical emergencies, fires, intrusion alarms, or trespassers.

Coordinate emergency responses with local law enforcement, fire departments, and EMS when necessary.

Complete detailed incident reports, root-cause analyses, and liability documentation before the end of the shift.

Access Control & Facility Surveillance

Oversee visitor management, badging protocols, contractor access, and vehicle inspection checkpoints.

Monitor CCTV systems, access control software, intrusion detection systems, and fire alarms.

Manage after-hours facility lock-down procedures, secure critical assets, and verify perimeter integrity.

Team Training & Administration

Train and onboard new security personnel on facility layouts, emergency response plans, customer service, and de-escalation techniques.

Monitor officer attendance, manage shift callouts, and authorize overtime to ensure full post coverage.

Address employee performance issues and participate in formal staff evaluations.

Qualifications
  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, safety management, or related fields preferred/not required
  • 3+ years of progressive security experience, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or lead capacity (retail, corporate, industrial, or commercial setting preferred)
  • Professional demeanor and appearance
  • Proficiency with CCTV monitoring systems, modern electronic access control systems (EACS), digital incident logging software, and basic MS Office
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize assigned tasks
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Minimum of one year of customer service experience
  • Minimum of one year of security experience
  • Ability to stand, walk extensive patrols, run during emergencies, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions for the duration of the shift.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screening (background and drug)
