Job summary

Selectemp in Cascade Locks, OR is seeking a Packaging Laborer to support packaging operations and keep production flowing. You will work with shift leaders to manage bagging and baler processes, ensuring efficient, safe packaging and high-quality standards.

The role requires basic reading of scales, forklift experience, and a hands-on mechanical aptitude, plus reliability and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand long hours. On-site work with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Forklift experience and familiarity with production lines is a plus.
• Good hand-eye-foot coordination to operate machinery safely.
• Ability to read scales and interpret measurements.
• Mechanical aptitude with basic troubleshooting skills.
• Demonstrated reliability and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs consistently and stand long shifts.

Responsibilities

• Operate bagging and baler machinery per safety and efficiency guidelines.
• Assist in starting and stopping pellet mills and report issues to the Shift Lead.
• Move, wrap and stack finished products on pallets in the warehouse.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks and other equipment safely.
• Complete production reports and tag pallets with quality control information.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment by following procedures and policies.
• Perform simple maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment to keep it running.

As a Packaging Laborer, you'll support crucial packaging operations, helping keep production flowing smoothly. You'll work closely with shift leaders to manage bagging and baler processes, ensuring products are packaged efficiently and safely. Your role will be vital in maintaining high-quality standards while keeping work areas clean and organized.

What You’ll Do

• Machinery Operation: Operate bagging and baler machinery in accordance with safety and efficiency guidelines
• Production Support: Assist in starting and stopping pellet mills, and report any moisture or material issues to the Shift Lead
• Product Handling: Move, wrap, and stack finished products on pallets, ensuring proper placement in the warehouse
• Equipment Use: Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment to transport materials safely
• Quality & Reporting: Complete production reports accurately, fill pellet sample cups, and tag pallets with quality control information
• Workplace Safety: Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following proper procedures and company policies
• Maintenance: Perform simple maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment to ensure optimal operation

What You’ll Bring

• Overtime: Occasional overtime as needed based on production demands
