Five Star Laundry Team in Ardmore, OK is seeking a delivery driver responsible for transporting soiled linen and delivering clean linen products to hotel customers while verifying loads and following state and federal regulations.

Responsibilities include operating trucks, loading carts, unloading at properties, preventing cross contamination, and performing safety checks. Weekend/Holiday work may be required.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Driver’s License.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to work independently and follow instructions.
• Must complete Safe Driver orientation.
• Able to understand and complete simple math functions.
• Must be able to follow maps or directions to meet destinations safely.

Responsibilities

• Operates delivery trucks of various models and weights.
• Loads clean linen carts and verifies load against the delivery ticket.
• Drives to hotels/hospitals and unloads, assisting with delivery to designated areas.
• Tags and identifies soiled carts to prevent cross contamination; loads and unloads accordingly.
• Completes safety inspections of the truck before deliveries.
• Maintains truck appearance and fuel level; ensures full gas tank.

Position Summary

Responsible for driving to and from designated locations, transporting soiled linen and delivering clean linen products to hotel customers, while verifying loads and adhering to state and Federal Regulations.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Operates delivery trucks of various models and gross vehicle weights
• Loads clean linen carts into trucks, checking to insure accuracy of load against the delivery ticket
• Drives trucks to specified hotel and/or hospital properties and unloads clean linen carts as well as assists hotel or hospital personnel in delivery to designated areas
• Tags and identifies soiled linen carts using proper techniques to ensure that no cross contamination occurs; loads truck and returns items to laundry and unloads into designated areas as specified by Production Manager
• Completes safety inspection of truck prior to every delivery
• Maintains appearance of the truck by not eating, smoking or littering when inside the vehicle at any time; also responsible for ensuring that truck has a full gas tank
• Completes trip sheets accurately to reflect all stops, number of carts delivered, number of carts retrieved and breaks
• Assists scalers and linen distribution by positioning carts in appropriate area and placing plastic liners over carts as required.
• Communicates customer concerns or complaints promptly to Production Manager on duty or to Transportation Manager
• Maintains truck by regularly cleaning cab area, exterior and sanitizing interior of truck after returning soiled laundry carts to ULS
• Able to push/pull carts loaded with linen weighing approximately 550 pounds
• Able to correctly and safely operate truck lift gate and back up trucks into tight places
• Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, and comply with all federal, state and local regulations for the safe operations of a commercial motor vehicle.
• Professional representation of the Company and the trucking industry through responsible driving and appearance
• Drivers must comply with all Customers’ safety and delivery requirements
• Ability to pass a drug test

Qualifications And Skills

• Must possess a valid Driver’s License
• Position requires high school diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to work independently and follow instructions
• Must complete Safe Driver orientation
• Able to understand and complete simple math functions
• Must be able to follow maps or directions to meet destination in a safe and efficient manner.
• Able to understand and complete basic math

Work Hours

• May include working on the weekends or during Holidays.

Physical / Mental Requirements

• Assigned duties are accomplished primarily driving the truck and an industrial setting.
• Able to correctly and safely operate truck lift gate and back-up trucks into tight places
• Able to push/pull cars loaded with linen weighing approximately up to 550 pounds
• May be at an industrial setting with heat/cold and distracting noise levels
