Job summary

Right at Home Monterey Bay is seeking experienced Home Care Assistants to support seniors and vulnerable adults in Capitola, CA. You will perform personal care, mobility assistance, meal prep, errands, and companionship in clients’ homes.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 1 year caregiving experience, English proficiency, and a valid driver’s license. CNA/HHA/PCA preferred; onboarding will be completed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to read/write/speak English as needed for the job.
• 1 year of caregiving experience (family or professional).
• Willing to commute to Santa Cruz, Capitola, Aptos, Watsonville, Soquel areas.
• Valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance.
• CNA/HHA/PCA certification preferred.
• Willing to complete onboarding paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care activities to assist with daily living.
• Assist with transferring/moving clients around the home.
• Perform light housekeeping up to 20% of duties.
• Prepare meals and snacks per instructions.
• accompany clients to errands or medical appointments.
• Support bathing, grooming, and dressing needs.

Hiring Experienced HCA in Monterey Bay Area

About the Role:

Right at Home Monterey Bay is seeking experienced Home Care Assistants (HCAs) to join our team of caregivers in the Capitola, California area. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors and vulnerable adults by providing compassionate care and support in their homes.

Responsibilities and Duties:

As a Home Care Assistant, you will be responsible for performing personal care activities that assist clients with activities of daily living, including:

• Assisting with transferring/moving clients from place to place throughout their home
• No more than 20%performing housekeeping activities which include (but are not limited to): vacuuming, dusting, sweeping or mopping floors, doing dishes, changing bed linens, doing laundry, and cleaning the bathroom to assist client(s)
• Preparing meals and snacks according to instructions
• Accompanying clients on errands or medical appointments
• Bathing/Showering/Dressing/Shaving
• Medication reminders
• Assisting with prescribed range of motion exercises
• Dementia care
• Companionship activities such as reading, music, puzzles, etc.

Requirements:

• High school graduate or G.E.D. certificate preferred

• 1 year of experience in caregiving (family members or professional)

Payrate:

$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
