Job Summary
Client is looking for AWS/Java/ETL Developer role focuses on designing, developing, and modernizing data solutions using AWS cloud services and Java technologies. The position requires collaboration with data modernization teams to build scalable, secure, and efficient cloud-native applications and ETL pipelines that support enterprise data lakes and analytics initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and propose modernization strategies.
- Design, develop, and test Java-based cloud-native applications and backend systems.
- Design, build, and maintain ETL pipelines to support data integration and analytics.
- Analyze data models and business requirements to ensure accurate data processing.
- Validate data by querying databases to ensure accuracy and integrity.
- Create and execute test cases, including backend testing of logic and data processing.
- Work closely with developers and business analysts to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Utilize AWS services within application architectures to optimize performance and cost.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to security best practices and coding standards.
- Monitor application performance and optimize for cost, security, and reliability.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues and challenges efficiently.
- Work with product managers and business stakeholders to refine requirements and deliver solutions.
Required Skills & Certifications
- 5+ years of experience using AWS services such as VPC, EC2, S3, Lambda, ECS, EKS, RDS, API Gateway, Glue Crawlers, and Athena.
- 7+ years of software development experience with strong skills in Java, J2EE, Java Spring framework, and Hibernate technology.
- 5+ years of experience modernizing legacy applications including refactoring, migration, and cloud-native development.
- 5+ years of knowledge in modern database technologies and strategies for database migration and modernization.
- 5+ years experience with DevOps practices and automation tools.
- Strong SQL skills including writing complex queries, debugging, and performance tuning.
- Experience with ETL tools and data modeling.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills & Certifications
- Experience with data analytics and business intelligence tools such as Power BI or AWS QuickSight.
- 2+ years experience creating AWS ETL jobs and managing high-volume data pipelines.
- AWS Certification.
- Experience working with state government projects.
Special Considerations
- Candidate must report onsite 3 days per week; this requirement is non-negotiable.
