Job summary

Greene Resources in Garner, NC is hiring an Offset Sheetfed Pressman to join a growing team. The role involves setting up and operating offset presses, reviewing job specs, inspecting plates, and maintaining print quality on 24# and 27# stock.

The position is full-time, with a Monday–Friday schedule and a $72,800 yearly pay. The ideal candidate has 2+ years as a Pressman (or 5–7 years as a Second Pressman), strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to lead and train a press crew while

Qualifications

• Two years as a Pressman or five to seven years as a Second Pressman.
• Experience with press setup, operation, troubleshooting and quality control.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate offset sheetfed printing presses.
• Review job orders for quantities, stock specs, colors and instructions.
• Inspect printing plates for defects and repair minor issues.
• Set and adjust press components based on paper and job specs.
• Print on lightweight stocks (24# and 27#).
• Adjust ink and dampening solution to maintain print quality.
• Monitor production for print quality and make press adjustments as needed.
• Replace worn rollers and adjust roller pressure.
• Troubleshoot press and print-quality issues.
• Perform routine press maintenance and cleaning.
• Lead, direct, monitor, and train the press crew.
• Follow all safety procedures.

2. Review job orders for print quantities, paper/stock specifications, colors, and special printing instructions.
3. Inspect printing plates for defects and repair minor issues when possible.
4. Set and adjust press components based on paper thickness and job specifications.
5. Print on lightweight paper, including 24# and 27# stock.
6. Adjust ink and dampening solution levels to maintain proper print quality.
7. Monitor printed materials throughout production for:

9. Adjust feeder and delivery mechanisms as needed.

Position Requirements

1. Strong knowledge of offset press mechanics and capabilities.
2. Ability to accurately identify color variations.
3. Strong mechanical aptitude.
4. Ability to read and follow written job instructions and press specifications.
5. Comfortable using hand tools and making mechanical adjustments.
6. Ability to work in a production environment with noise, dust, odors, and oils.
