Job summary

Vp plc, operating Brandon Hire Station, is seeking a Hire Controller in Carlisle to deliver outstanding customer service at the counter and over the phone. You will drive hire revenue, coordinate deliveries and collections, and ensure vehicles are loaded safely in line with procedures within a busy branch.

You will support stock checks, maintain branch presentation, and perform daily H&S and compliance checks.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering excellent customer service.
• Strong commercial mindset and awareness of service delivery.
• Excellent communication with ability to influence and empathise.
• Good attention to detail and IT skills.
• Knowledge of local area.

Key Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for customers over the counter & on the telephone
• Maximise hire and sales revenue
• Cover deliveries and collections when essential to business demands
• Ensure vehicle are always loaded safely and in line with company procedures
• Responsible for appropriate branch presentation
• Carry out daily compliance and H&S checks, as directed
• Assist and attend stock takes as required

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience of delivering excellent customer service
• Commercial mind-set and aware of importance of service delivery
• Effective communicator with ability to influence and empathise
• Good attention to detail and IT skills
• Knowledge of local area
• Knowledge of hire industry desirable but not essential
• Knowledge of equipment desirable not essential
