Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 0-1 year experience in healthcare or customer service.
• Ability to read medical terminology and comprehend related regulations (HIPAA).
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to adapt to new technology and AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Maintains patient privacy per HIPAA and state/federal regulations.
• Verifies release requests for legality and policy compliance.
• Logs requests in OnBase/EPIC release tracking system and scans documents.
• Selects relevant PHI per authorization and legal requirements.
• Ensures proper digital export formats (CDs, email, patient portal).
• Provides accurate status updates and customer service to requesters.
• Performs clerical tasks such as answering phones and distributing mail.
