Qualifications

• Knowledge of HIPAA privacy laws, access, and release of information.
• Experience in privacy/compliance in a healthcare environment.
• Education requirements including associate degree, with possible progress to degree within 2 years if not already completed.

Responsibilities

• Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of HIPAA privacy and healthcare compliance policies and programs to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Investigate, document, and track potential HIPAA violations, privacy breaches, and unauthorized disclosures of PHI, maintaining incident records.
• Conduct compliance audits, departmental rounding, and risk assessments to identify regulatory concerns and recommend corrective actions.
• Analyze compliance data, audit findings, and privacy incident trends to identify risks and develop improvement strategies.
• Assist in developing and delivering HIPAA, patient privacy, and regulatory compliance training to employees.
• Participate in Compliance and Breach Committee meetings, presenting findings and recommendations for corrective action.
• Collaborate with leadership on regulatory monitoring, business associate agreements, annual privacy assessments, and ongoing compliance initiatives.
• Serve as an internal resource for healthcare compliance and privacy matters.
