Encompass Health Corporation seeks a skilled HIMS Technician to join our inpatient rehabilitation team. You will maintain patient records, ensure IRF-PAI data elements are complete, and support accurate data entry in PATCOM systems. RHIT preferred; relevant hospital HIMS experience is valued.

Qualifications

• RHIT preferred; hospital HIMS experience valued.
• High School diploma or equivalent required; college/university degree preferred.
• Graduate of accredited college or university; healthcare data safety awareness.
• Medical Terminology knowledge required.
• One year data entry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain delinquent records at less than 50% of average discharge rate.
• Monitor IRF-PAI data elements and assure they are completed.
• Complete physician and staff deficiency checklist.
• Perform final check of medical records before designation complete.
• Abstract discharge date for PATCOM system for all discharged inpatients.
• Accurately completes data entry of all PATCOM HIMS data.
• Monitor and correct errors on daily exception reports.
