Job summary

ADP, Inc. is hiring a HIM Validator (Coder) for the Jericho, NY office. This full-time role requires expertise in ICD-10-CM guidelines and DRG validation to ensure accurate coding assignments.

You will work on-site with healthcare professionals, applying your RHIA/RHIT/CCS credentials and ICD-10 certification. A Bachelor's degree in health information management or health administration is preferred and one year of hospital coding experience is required.

HIM Validator (Coder)

Full-time Regular Technical Jericho, NY, US

Salary Range: $65,000.00 To $75,000.00 Hourly

In the HIM Validator (Coder) role, you will utilize your knowledge and expertise of the review program and coding guidelines to ensure that the assignment of coding/DRG is appropriate and consistent with ICD-10-CM Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting and AHA Coding Clinic regulations.

This position requires working on-site at the Jericho, NY office.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to relate effectively to physicians, senior medical, nursing and administrative personnel.
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Technical knowledge of coding and DRG validation.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Licensed Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) required.
• Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or health information management preferred.
• One (1) year of hospital experience in the abstracting and coding of inpatient medical records required.
• ICD-10 certification, required.

The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. The annualized salary range for this position is $65,000.00 - $75,000.00. Actual salary range and/or hourly rate depends on a variety of factors including experience, education, credentials, location, and budget.
