Job summary

Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, Inc. is seeking a full-time HIM Tech/ROI Specialist to reconcile patient records, prep and scan documents, and manage ROI requests in accordance with HIPAA and hospital policies.

The role requires strong PHI confidentiality, excellent communication, and the ability to work independently within the Health Information Management department. Prior experience in ROI is preferred and a 2-year Health Information background is desirable.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain confidentiality of PHI.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to interact with leadership and customers.
• Ability to prioritize and work independently while collaborating with the team.

Responsibilities

• Picks up and reconciles medical records and loose documentation to ensure timely processing.
• Preps and scans medical records and loose documents.
• Performs quality review to ensure proper indexing and PHI security compliance.
• Processes ROI requests and maintains status in ROI software.
• Assists with department reception and customer service for HIM callers and visitors.
• Participates in department performance improvement projects.
