Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital seeks a Data Technician - HIM to accurately enter patient medical records and insurance correspondence into our clinical database. You will generate reports that support Revenue Cycle/Finance, assist with research, and perform administrative duties.

This on-site role requires a high school diploma or GED, knowledge of medical terminology, and at least 1 year of experience in medical records or related HIM functions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of medical/psychiatric terminology and documentation.
• Experience in medical record operations or related HIM functions is preferred.
• Must be accurate, detail-oriented and able to work with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Enter patient medical record and insurance correspondence into the clinical database.
• Provide reports that support Revenue Cycle/Finance and administrative functions.
• Follow-up on clinical appeals by phone and/or web and resolve denials.
• Search archive database for determination letters from Payers to resolve denials.
