Job summary

Sturdy Memorial Hospital is seeking a Health Information Management (HIM) Analyst I to analyze inpatient, ED, observation, outpatient and ancillary records ensuring complete, accurate documentation for CMS participation. The role includes prepping, scanning, indexing documents and processing Release of Information in compliance with HIPAA.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of office/clerical experience, strong English communication, detail orientation, and proficiency with Microsoft Office

Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ years in office/clerical/computer work.
• Excellent command of verbal and written English; strong interpersonal communication.
• Ability to clearly present and explain complex information to internal and external stakeholders.
• Detail oriented with strong problem-solving and critical thinking.
• Ability to prioritize work and manage interruptions while maintaining quality and quantity.
• Excellent telephone skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Operate PC, scanner, printer, phone, fax, and copier.
• Troubleshoot computer or system failures with IT to resolve downtime.

Responsibilities

• Prepare medical documents for scanning with patient identifiers on all pages.
• Operate high-speed scanner to digitize paper records into the EHR system.
• Review scanned images for quality, select correct patient/visit, label documents.
• Review charts for deficiencies and ensure CMS, DNV, HIPAA compliance.
