Job summary

Canyon Ridge Hospital seeks an HIM coder/technician to join our behavioral health team. The coder analyzes, abstracts and codes diagnoses and procedures for inpatient and outpatient records using ICD-10 and CPT, following hospital guidelines.

Required CCS certification and at least one year experience with ICD-10/CPT; DSM-5 coding and encoder software experience preferred; strong attention to detail and regulatory compliance are essential.

Qualifications

• CCS certification is required.
• Minimum one year of ICD-10 and CPT coding experience in a medical or psychiatric facility preferred.
• ICD-10-CM procedures and DSM-V coding procedures experience required.
• Use of an encoder software product for code assignment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, abstract and code diagnoses and procedures for inpatient and outpatient records per ICD-10 and CPT.
• Ensure coding accuracy and compliance with hospital guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Support Health Information Management through clerical and technical tasks.
