Job summary

GNS North America, established in 2009, is seeking a Warehouse/Material Handler to ensure smooth material flow on the production floor. You will operate forklifts and cranes, prepare shipments, and support inventory control in a fast-paced shop environment.

You must hold a valid forklift certification, have crane experience, and be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. Prior shipping/receiving and basic computer skills are required. Overtime and weekend work may be necessary.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid forklift (Hilo) certification.
  • Crane operator certification or demonstrated crane operating experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in shipping, warehousing, or manufacturing preferred.
  • Ability to safely handle heavy materials and equipment.
  • Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures.
  • Basic computer skills for shipping documentation and inventory systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a forklift (Hilo) to load, unload, and move materials within the production floor.
  • Operate overhead and/or mobile cranes to lift, position, and transport coils.
  • Prepare customer orders for shipment according to company specifications.
  • Load trucks and trailers while ensuring proper weight distribution and load security.
  • Perform daily inspections of forklifts, cranes, and other material handling equipment.
  • Complete shipping and receiving documentation accurately.
  • Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for damage or discrepancies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all workplace health and safety regulations, company policies, and operating procedures.
  • Assist with inventory counts and general warehouse duties as required.
  • Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, drivers, and supervisors to coordinate shipments.

Work Schedule

2nd Shift- 1:00pm-9:00pm, Monday-Friday, with overtime and weekends based on company needs.

Position Summary

Ensure the smooth flow of materials both raw & finished on the production floor. Operate forklift in a safe and careful manner. Observe all GNS safety rules, regulations and established procedures, including those established for forklift operations.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. This job involves repetitive tasks and attention to detail. Fast-paced environment, usually work standard 40-hour weeks, but overtime may be necessary as work load’s dictate. This may include weekdays, and weekends.

Work Environments

Work performed in a shop environment and regularly exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes and noise. GNS has established processes, procedures, and protective equipment to reduce or eliminate exposures to these hazards and full compliance is a requirement of the job. Requires working in non-air-conditioned variable temperature factory setting. Employees are exposed to extreme heat and/or cold and other workplace hazards. Noise level is the work environment is mostly loud. Employees may be subject to random drug and alcohol testing, pre-employment physical and background checks.
